"What's your neighbors' home worth and how many bathrooms are inside?"
There're reports that many homeowners are so addicted to Zillow.com that they check their home value almost as often as they check the value of their mutual funds.
Zillow is a relatively new site that compiles data from a variety of sources and offers a value of what your home is worth as well as the values of neighboring homes.
Plus, there's other information offered like total square feet, the year the home was built and even the number of baths inside.
That's pretty detailed without setting foot in the door.

Have you 'zillowed' your home yet?
Zillow also informs users about historical value trends. For instance, Zillow reported that my own home appreciated by $13,257 in the last week alone.
If you're expecting me, as a real estate agent, to question the accuracy of these values, then you're right. Nothing can replace a knowledgeable agent's competitive market analysis.
Furthermore, unlike the static values assigned to cars in the Kelly Blue Book, there's an almost infinite number of things that can contribute to or detract from a home's value. And these values change dynamically.
But the information gap keeps getting smaller and home owners now have more credible information at their fingertips than ever before.
